  2. Sir,
Very interested in the Winnipeg Rifles. my Great Uncle (Francis Edwin Hansford 187246) was killed at Vimy Ridge on 14 April 1917. I have traced his grave and intend to visit it this year.
Many thanks for the interesting website

    1. Hi Mick – my great uncle Cyril Stevenson was wounded in the second assault of Vimy ridge. I have not been able to find out much information about his service in the regiment. Do you suggestions for further information about the men who fought at Vimy ? Thanks, Noel Thompson

  3. Good day. I don’t know if you are aware, but there is a gentleman by the name of John Newman who lives in Virden MB. John is 98 and is a WWII veteran. It is my understanding that he served with the RWR during the war. He would probably love a visit by current members of the Regiment. Please feel free to contact me if you wish more information.
